Welcome to the Representation of the Free State of Saxony in Brussels!

As part of the Saxon State Chancellery, we act as an important link between Saxony and the institutions of the European Union. The Representation informs the State Government in real time of issues relevant to Saxony, which are discussed in the European Commission, the Council or the European Parliament. This allows the government and administration in Saxony to develop their own position and express their views on current European developments.

With several proposed simplification measures, the European Commission is currently focusing on strengthening competitiveness and cutting red tape in order to better position the EU in global economic competition and prepare the Union for the future.

As a regional representation, we are accompanying, monitoring and influencing these measures in order to further strengthen Saxony as a hub of innovation and business, with industries ranging from automotive to chip production for Europe and beyond. Reducing bureaucracy will also greatly benefit Saxony's citizens.
